VIDEO for the ROBOCup Competition
BRIEF EXPLANATION OF THE FOOTBALLER ROBOT TEAM
It is important to point out a few details concerning this team of robots:
- 1) All the robots of the team are equal. We have 4 robots and we are building a 5th one. In this video, we only recorded one robot since all the others have similar behaviours.
- 2) We don't have a playing field, therefore we played with the robots on a large room (without barriers). That's the reason why the robot sometimes moves away.
- 3) We don't have other team of robots therefore we (PEOPLE) played against them for this video DEMO.
- 4) The top structure of the robots will be removed to make them shorter. We use it also as a handle to debug the software (in case we need to get hold of them). We have some cases on this video, which show precisely that. We had to grab the robot in order to avoid it going to unwanted places.
- 5) The cover of the robots is not on for debugging purposes. They have proper covers, which will be used in Stockholm.
- 6) In the room we recorded this video, the light wasn't very good. There was lots of reflections (as you can see) which sometimes confused the robot.
- 7) In this case, the robot is prepared with two different behaviours: Attacker and Defender. We show both of them on the video.
- 8) The arc at the front of the robot is used to control the ball ONLY for debugging purposes. It will be REMOVED for the contest. In fact, in the rest of the video, that arc was removed.
- 9) We didn't know what you wanted to see on the video or how long should the video be, therefore we recorded a few examples of the robot behaviour which lasts . Should you need something else from the video, please do not hesitate to contact us.
